I Like (pt. 2)

I like coffee at midnight 

and in the middle of the day 

It doesn't really matter when 

because it's never too early 

and it's never too late 

I like watching planes fly by

but now I'm hoping more than ever 

that they don't crash, explode

or fall out of the sky 

I like reading books that make me think 

and books that take me away from the insanity 

Sometimes I just need fantasy 

Dragons and unicorns in a far away land 

Aliens in spaceships to take me by the hand 

I like calling out bullshit 

and speaking up for people who can't defend themselves 

and standing up for what I believe in

even if I'm the only one 

because silence is compliance 

and silence is violence 

If I take a hit, then I take a hit

I like yelling, "FUCK THE PATRIARCHY!"

and showing off my "therapy dog"

to anyone who deserves it 

and coming up with a plan to overcome this shit

This isn't the world I wanna live in 

I like discussing theology and psychology 

and civil rights 

and asking questions 

and challenging the status quo

and learning nerdy science 

and trying to figure out the secret to life
